Four application KPIs that survive a Friday review
Lead time, change failure, incident hours, and early adoption — why this small set keeps showing up in healthy application scorecards.

We facilitate application analytics scorecards — lead time, release health, incident load, and adoption — so engineering and product share one definition of “good”.
Advisory engagements that leave application teams with a living scorecard, agreed definitions, and a review cadence — not another unused spreadsheet.
A facilitated engagement that produces a signed-off application analytics scorecard, KPI definitions, and a first review meeting with your application teams.
A focused critique of your current application health metrics — what to keep, what to retire, and where definitions conflict across teams.
A one- or two-day workshop to establish a baseline for application KPIs before a major release, migration, or organisational change.
External facilitation for your quarterly application KPI reviews — keeping definitions honest and actions visible across teams.
Most application teams already measure something. The friction starts when product, operations, and engineering report different numbers for the same release. We sit with those owners, strip vanity metrics, and lock a small set of KPIs to the decisions you make each sprint and each quarter.
“We came in with twelve overlapping release metrics and left with four that the squads actually check every Friday.”Helen Cartwright — Engineering Manager, Birmingham retail platform
Practical writing on application analytics, scorecard design, and the awkward conversations that make KPI frameworks stick.
Lead time, change failure, incident hours, and early adoption — why this small set keeps showing up in healthy application scorecards.
A practical script for removing application metrics that look impressive and inform nothing — without humiliating the person who introduced them.
What to freeze, what to ignore, and who must be in the room when application teams baseline KPIs ahead of a migration.
Engineering managers, heads of applications, and product directors who need a shared KPI set for one or more application teams. We also work with delivery leads preparing for a board or portfolio review.
No. We design the framework, definitions, and review rhythm. Your teams keep using the instrumentation and reporting you already have, or you choose tools separately.
Most KPI Framework Design engagements run three to five weeks from discovery workshops to a signed-off scorecard and first review meeting, depending on how many applications are in scope.
Our office is in Oldbury. Workshops are often held on-site across the United Kingdom or by video when travel is impractical. Travel outside the Midlands is agreed in the estimate.
Bring current dashboards, release calendars, known pain points, and two or three people who own day-to-day application decisions. Incomplete data is fine; we start from what exists.
